Description of the tourist site | The Burgas Lakes, located near Taoura, ancient Thagora during antiquity, is a town in the wilaya of Souk Ahras in Algeria, located on the RN 82, about 20 km. To the south-east of Souk Ahras.
is the largest natural lake in the wilaya, a relay preferred by many species of birds during their migrations. Some bird species found in the lake such as; white-headed duck, wild ducks and pink flamingo. The blue-billed duck is one of the endangered species. With time and climate change, these lakes have become semi-natural, between February and April during the rains they turn into a kind of jungle, where the level of the lake extends to flood the nearby forest plain, whose highlands trees and below are intertwined with the winds and the grass, which makes a natural carpet pleasant and beautiful to see. Its charm, which increases with the arrival of spring, the period when the reception of nature lovers and the tranquility between families and tourists.
